The Black Hole of White Canyon
For those looking to try more involved canyoneering, this five-mile stretch through White Canyon is a thrill. Just a few miles upriver from where White Canyon Creek flows into the Colorado River, you’ll find an easy-to-access section of the canyon that makes for a spectacular adventure. In the Canyon Rating System, the area is classified as a 2B III, meaning you don’t need a rope but you can expect to swim. At an average pace, it makes for a solid daytrip. First-timers will want to hire a guide, or at least go with an experienced canyoner.
