One of Jamaica's most popular seafood restaurants is located in the southern fishing village of Alligator Pond, about an hour from Treasure Beach. Going to dinner at Little Ochie is fun: you get to pick your fish from species to pounds--literally, out of a freezer full of fresh catch--and order the cooking style of your choice (jerk, grilled, escoveitch and more). Pick a side of bammy to go with it-- a thick, round piece of cassava bread often savored with fish. After that, you head outside and pick from one of several beachfront thatched huts--carved in the shape of a fisherman's canoe--with picnic style tables, where you'll enjoy your meal directly beside the sea. The atmosphere here is relaxed yet lively, and a real slice of Jamaica. It's well worth the drive. The best seafood I've ever had in Jamaica is at Little Ochie.
