Kirirom National Park

Hike in Kirirom National Park
Pleated gibbons, sun bears, and tigers are just a few of the endangered species living in Kirirom National Park, a fantastic two-hour day-trip from Phnom Penh. Multiple outfitters offer hiking tours of this unique forest, or you can visit on your own with a little research. Hike through high-elevation pine forests, spying birds and rare orchids and 130-foot waterfalls. Trails lead to cliffs with views of the Cardamom Mountains. For true adrenaline junkies, mountain biking options may be added on to packages. The Chambok Commune—a nonprofit cooperative between nine local villages—offers visitors authentic experiences, like cooking classes, traditional dance performances, and bird-watching walks, as well as the opportunity for overnight homestays.
