There’s a stunning hike, accessible from the Villa del Palmar property on Danzante Bay Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa, with the most incredible views of Danzante Bay, the Sea of Cortez, the Islands of Loreto, and the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range. I got up at sunrise, made my way to end of the beach, and climbed up the steps to the trail. The trail winds up the mountain a little, nothing too extreme. It then takes you along the coast, away from the hotel, with constantly changing, vast vistas. Being up there early, I encountered a few sleepy jack rabbits, and found a place from where I could watch the pelicans taking off from, and darting back into the water, fishing. Best of all, the 40 minute trail stays in the shade for quite some time–so make sure you get there early!
