Gifford Homestead

Located within Capitol Reef National Park, the Gifford House Museum and Store tells the historical account of the Mormon settlement of Fruita. And while the history makes this place unique in and of itself, the homestead also offers some of the best homemade pies in Southern Utah. Head to the Homestead early and fuel up on scones or a cinnamon bun before exploring the park or wrap up a day of hiking with one of their many flavors of single serving pies. The towering crimson buttes surround the property making the perfect accompaniment to their culinary delights. Open from mid-March through the end of October, and if you hit it in the right season, you may just get to pick your own fruit in the orchard next door as a simple souvenir.
