Chef Erik Niel opened this stylish downtown spot in 2005 as a showcase for the seafood of his native Louisiana. Here, the menu changes frequently based on the freshest available catch, though house specialties like creamy shrimp and grits, garlicky mussels with fries, and one of the finest examples of beef brisket outside of Texas are always available. Niel also has a real talent for charcuterie, and his assortment of salami, ham, and cheese is a great way to kick off a meal if you’re not an oyster person. Just be sure to save room for desserts like bourbon bread pudding, plus a nightcap cocktail from the creative bar team.
