Located two miles northwest of Aguadilla, Crash Boat Beach is a lively, energetic place known for a wide stretch of golden sand, craggy outcrops, large surf breaks, mountainous backdrop, and massive concrete breakwaters—jetty and pier remnants from World War II, when the beach accommodated the Crash Rescue Boats Squadron. Today, the piers are used as launchpads by swimmers and snorkelers, while the beach is shared by sunseekers, families, and weekend warriors looking for a break from the bustle of San Juan. It is a great place to meet locals, catch a few waves (breaks can be aggressive here), and experience island life away from the bright lights of the resort hotels.
