Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

593 Briggs Rd, Brighton TAS 7030, Australia

At Tasmania’s only 24-hour animal rescue service, guests can interact with recovering wombats, Tasmanian devils, quolls, koalas, echidnas, snakes, and emus. The entrance fee includes a 45-minute tour that combines Tasmanian devil feeding with koala and wombat petting. Along the way, travelers learn about the larger environmental threats that have sent these unique creatures to Bonorong. A handful of behind-the-scenes tours such as the Feeding Frenzy are available for those wanting to interact with additional wildlife, from cheeky cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets to sugar gliders, blue-tongued lizards, and the adorable Tasmanian bettong. No matter what you do, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for Tasmanian wildlife and a desire to help protect it.
