Hallowed Ground For Sweet-toothed Scots
Most companies evolve with the changing times to ensure success. In the case of Tunnock's, however, the rule has been turned on its head. Makers of legendary items (in Scotland at least) such as the tea cake, the caramel wafer and the snowball, the firm has prospered on the back of its resolutely homely, traditional image. Factory tours of the company headquarters in Uddingston on the outskirts of Glasgow are usually highly-subscribed, but are an eye-opener for anyone with an interest in a unique Caledonian sweet sensation.
