With hardly any infrastructure and a distinct lack of vehicles (aside from the forestry commission cars), the island is a boon for walkers. There are several well-marked tracks and paths that lead around the coastline and into the island’s diverse interior, where you can find everything from beautiful orchids and waterfalls to hot springs and the 853-meter-high (2,800-foot-high) Inrerow Atahein (sometimes called Inrerow Atamein), an extinct volcano.
