Away, Tumi, Osprey: The Best Luggage Deals This Black Friday and Cyber Monday

What better way to jump-start your New Year travel goals than with a fresh set of luggage, a sturdy backpack or duffel, a weekender bag, or packing cubes?

British luggage maker Antler is discounting its vast collection for up to 50 percent off.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday offer a rare moment when the luggage brands we actually use for our travels (or want to use) offer a serious discount on their pieces. From the cult-favorite Away hard-sided carry-on to Cotopaxi’s rugged duffels, many of the bags Afar editors swear by are marked down right now.

This season’s sales aren’t just about shaving a few dollars off a suitcase. Some brands are throwing in personalization, warranties that follow you for decades of trips, or travel accessories that make packing less chaotic (hello, compression cubes). Others are dropping limited-edition colors that will disappear as fast as a standby seat. If you’ve been eyeing an upgrade or you’re tired of dragging a wobbly-wheeled bag through airport security, this is likely the best price you’ll see for a while.

Here’s where to find the best luggage deals this holiday season.

Antler

British heritage luggage maker Antler has been designing travel-gear since 1914, and until December 2, shoppers can get up to 50 percent off its suite of products on Antler.com and Amazon. Some deals include 40 percent off Antler’s Single Stripe Luggage (a minimalist hardside case), 30 percent off packing cubes, and 20 percent off the Soft Stripe 2.0 Lightest Luggage, a great carry-on roller bag.

Arden Cove

Arden Cove, a brand that specializes in antitheft, water-resistant bags equipped with features like RFID-blocking linings, slash-proof fabric, locking zippers, and stylish finishes is offering up to 30 percent off its range of bags. We like the Convertible Backpack and Crossbody Bag (this writer uses it for peace of mind while traveling with camera equipment) and the Crissy Full Crossbody purse.

Away luggage has become almost a status symbol among frequent travelers.

Away

The brand Away—with its sleek, minimalist aesthetics, 360-degree spinner wheels, and eye-catching colors, and lifetime warranty—has dropped one of its most substantial discounts of the year, making it the perfect moment to upgrade your luggage. During the Black Friday/Cyber Monday window, everything sitewide is 25 percent off (plus an extra 10 percent off when you spend $750 or more). The Bigger Carry-On is an Afar-favorite (read our review here to find out why it was named our Best Carry-On of 2024), although we’re also eyeing the Mini Crossbody Bag and the newer trunk-style Aluminum Edge suitcases for our wish list.

Carl Friedrik

Carl Friedrik makes luggage for travelers who appreciate design details as much as durability. Its aluminum suitcases are clean and minimal, with rounded metal corners and those satisfying latch-style closures you snap shut instead of zipping. They’re a little heavier, sure, but they last. If you like the idea of investing in both a carry-on and checked luggage, the Luggage Set bundles the brand’s carry-on and check-in sizes into a matching pair. Right now, all bags are 30 percent off sitewide.

Cotopaxi

Cotopaxi—famous for its bold colors and adventure-proof design—has some of its best travel deals of the year on its backpacks and duffels. The brand’s current sale includes up to 25 percent off select items, including the Allpa Getaway Duffle (Afar executive editor Katherine LaGrave calls the backpack version her “go-to travel bag”) and the Todo 2L Hip Pack, both made with recycled materials.

July

July has earned a following for its super-durable hardside suitcases—built with a sturdy polycarbonate shell, aluminum bumpers, and wheels that barely make a sound on airport tile. The interiors are just as thoughtful, with an easy-to-use compression system and plenty of pockets that keep everything from shoes to chargers in place. During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, July is offering savings of up to 25 percent off when you buy multiple pieces, making it a great time to invest in a matching set or pair a carry-on with a weekender or checked bag. This year’s sale also includes July’s new CaseSafe Collection—the world’s first suitcase with an integrated, trackable TSA lock, compatible with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find My Device networks.

The Catalina Deluxe small weekender is a classic getaway bag—and it’s now on sale.

Lo & Sons

Lo & Sons was started by two brothers who set out to solve a problem for their frequent-traveler mother: She wanted a bag that was lightweight, organized, and elegant enough to take anywhere. In the time since, the company’s weekenders and totes have become favorites of travelers and Afar editors. The Catalina Deluxe, for example, has a bottom compartment for shoes or dirty laundry, while the O.G.2 tote slides easily over suitcase handles and has easy-to-access pockets sized for laptops, passports, and snacks. For Black Friday and Cyber Monday, many of Lo & Sons’ most popular bags are heavily discounted (up to 60 percent off), making this one of the best times to pick up a versatile travel piece that looks polished and performs well trip after trip.

Monos

Monos keeps things simple in the best way. Its matte suitcases skip the flashy hardware and focus on what actually matters when you’re on the move: smooth wheels, a sturdy shell that doesn’t dent easily, and an interior that makes packing feel organized instead of overstuffed. The Carry-On Pro is a standout, with a built-in front compartment that fits a laptop and travel documents without bulking up the bag—ideal for anyone who hates digging at security. We’re also partial to the Aluminum Trunk suitcase that feels like a modern take on classic steamer trunks, with a sleek metal build. Use code “EARLYBF” for 25 percent off sitewide.

Osprey

Osprey started back in the ’70s with one sewing machine and a simple idea: bags should fit well and survive just about anything you throw at them. That’s still the brand’s vibe today, which is why travelers swear by its rugged backpacks (plus, it offers a lifetime “All Mighty Guarantee” and will repair your bag for as long as you own it). Now through December 1, Osprey is offering up to 40 percent off items sitewide, including the Daylite Carry-On Travel Pack and the Daylite Wheeled Duffle.

Rachel Bloom

Rachel Bloom’s line of smart purses looks like classic, structured leather bags—but they’re hiding some serious security tech. Each one can be locked and unlocked with your fingerprint, just like a phone, or through an app that also lets you set a distance alarm if your bag ever wanders out of reach. From November 28 through December 1, the anti-theft smart bags are 25 percent off. That includes the Smart Crossbody (featured in Afar’s Best Gifts for Travelers guide) and the Smart Tote.

You’ll feel like you’re taking a voyage during the golden age of travel with a SteamLine suitcase.

SteamLine Luggage

SteamLine makes pieces that lean hard into travel nostalgia. Its suitcases look like vintage trunks—leather straps, brass-tone hardware, charming color combos—but they’re built with modern materials, spinner wheels, and organized interiors that actually make sense for today’s traveler. Until December 2, the brand is offering up to 50 percent off sitewide—including on the Diplomat Carry-On and the adorable Starlet Hat Box. Note: Because the leather can rip, we’d recommend using a protective cover if you plan to check your bag.

11.Gifts-for-Travelers_ThuleCompressionPackingCubes.jpg

Thule

What we love about Thule is that it makes travel gear that looks simple and streamlined but is built to take a beating. Its suitcases, like the Subterra 2 and the over-packing-friendly Chasm, hold up to rain, baggage belts, and those unexpected airport jogs without looking like outdoor gear. Thule’s packing cubes are some of Afar’s favorites (and have made our Best Gifts for Travelers guide several years in a row). They feature a set of double YKK zippers that lets you zip them closed and then compress them tighter, squeezing out extra air and bulk. During the holiday sale, select Thule products are up to 25 percent off.

Black Travelpro wheeled suitcase

Travelpro

Travelpro is the luggage you’ll spot behind the people who spend more time in the air than on the ground—pilots and flight attendants. It was designed by a pilot, and it shows: The bags are tough, smooth rolling, and built to be dragged through terminals day after day without fraying or giving up a wheel. They’re not flashy, but they are reliable, which is exactly why crews swear by them. Currently, the suitcases are 50 percent off sitewide. We’d recommend the Platinum Elite Carry-On Spinner—it has a built-in USB port, smooth self-aligning wheels, and a smart interior suiter pocket that doubles as a garment bag and keeps clothes from wrinkling.

Tumi

Tumi’s bags are known for looking sharp and lasting for years . . . which is why they’re also known for being one of the most spendy bags on the market. The brand’s carry-ons and checked bags are thoughtfully made with structured shells, smooth wheels, and practical touches like its Tracer ID tag, so they’re meant to be a long-term purchase. That’s exactly why Black Friday/Cyber Monday is the best time to snag one—Tumi rarely offers meaningful discounts. This year, the brand is offering up to 30 percent off select items, such as the sleek International 4-Wheel Carry-On and the Celina Backpack.
