Petala Ironcloud (Lakota-Dakota) is an independent journalist based in Manhattan. Raised in Northern California, they developed a textile arts practice as a child. Today, Petala focuses on Indigenous-centric storytelling for media outlets such as Time, Afar, the New York Times, and Business of Fashion; they are also writing their first novel.
