Paul J. Heney is a lifelong writer and avid world traveler. Earlier in his writing and editing career, he served as editorial director for Luxury Hotelier, Hotel Design, and Hotel & Motel Management. Today, he focuses on both the consumer and B2B travel writing. His work has appeared in publications such as Travel Weekly, Travel Pulse, GayCities, Out Traveler, Porthole Cruise magazine, TravelAge West, and Vacationer Magazine.
Paul’s travel passions include urban exploring, hiking, and finding the perfect beach. He has written extensively about family travel, luxury, adventure, sustainability, cruises, astronomy, wine/cuisine, wellness, and LGBTQ+ travel. He has won multiple Azbee awards for writing from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. In 2024, he led a team that won a Neal Award for a special print magazine issue focused on diversity and inclusion in the engineering world. He is an active member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and lives in Cleveland with his husband and son.
