Karan Gokani is the cofounder of Hoppers, a Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant group in London, and the author of Hoppers: The Cookbook: Recipes, and Stories from Sri Lanka and Beyond. Born in Mumbai and trained as a lawyer, he left law to pursue food full-time, blending travel, storytelling, and regional cooking from across South Asia.
She is also the cofounder and creative director of Hoppers, the acclaimed London restaurant group inspired by the flavors of Sri Lanka and southern India. Born in Mumbai, he studied law at the University of Cambridge and began his career as a solicitor before following his passion for food. He spent years traveling through India and Sri Lanka, studying regional cuisines and cooking traditions before opening Hoppers in 2015. The restaurant earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and has since expanded across London.
