The Canelobre Caves

carretera cuevas canelobre, CV-776, 03111 Busot, Alicante, Spain

The Canelobre Caves, seven million years in the making, are just 20 kilometers from Alicante and worth the effort it takes to visit them. The sprawling caverns, so large that concerts are sometimes held here, have been called “Nature’s Sagrada Familia” because of the similarities to the soaring church by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona. Remember to bring a scarf and jacket as the caves do stay cold.
