Leave civilization behind and paddle your way through the beautiful nature of Dalsland. The lakes, rivers and streams around the Dalsland Canal are made for canoing – and there are a lot of them. A system of more than 3,800 square miles of lakes and streams are connected in the north of Dalsland, just waiting for you. There are several outfitters that rent all the gear needed for both a long and short trip, plus plenty of equipped camping sites along the shores with windbreaks, toilets and firepits stocked with logs. With a card called Nature Conservation Card called “Naturvårdskortet” you get access to them all for a small fee. Buy the card online or at one of the tourist offices in Dalsland.
