Stephanie Capper is a freelance journalist who has spent the past decade reporting across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Her work explores human rights, migration, social justice, gender, culture, and community resilience, with a particular focus on under-reported stories and solutions-driven journalism. Her reporting has appeared in Dateline, SBS, ABC Australia, YES! Magazine, Actuality Abroad, and other publications.

From documenting humanitarian efforts along the Syrian border to reporting on women’s reproductive health in Nepal and migration, tourism, and grassroots change across Latin America, she is drawn to stories that illuminate how communities navigate challenges and create solutions. Stephanie is also the founder of Solutions Journalism Without Borders, an international study-abroad initiative that teaches aspiring journalists and storytellers how to report on responses to social challenges through immersive, field-based learning.

In Guatemala, she founded El Paredón Insider, an independent online magazine dedicated to telling the stories of the people, businesses, and community shaping one of the country’s fastest-growing beach destinations. Originally from Australia’s Gold Coast, Stephanie spends significant time in Guatemala and throughout Central America, where she continues to report on the people, places, and issues shaping the region.
