Ruffin Prevost is an award-winning freelance reporter from Cody, Wyoming who has extensively covered natural resource issues across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for the past 25 years. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times and is the Wyoming reporter for Reuters. His work has also appeared in National Geographic, the Chicago Tribune, U.S. News & World Report, Frommer’s, and regional publications throughout the Rocky Mountain West.
Ruffin is editor of Points West, the quarterly membership magazine of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, and has worked previously as the Wyoming bureau chief for the Billings Gazette, Montana’s largest daily newspaper. He also served as managing editor for WyoFile, Wyoming’s premier nonprofit news outlet, covering the state’s people, places and policy. He is founding editor of the Yellowstone Gate website.
