Rahawa Haile is an Eritrean American writer currently living in Oakland. Her essays and features have appeared in Pacific Standard, Brooklyn Magazine, BuzzFeed, and other publications. She is the author of a forthcoming memoir—set on the Appalachian Trail—scheduled for publication by Harper Books. Her work often focuses on identity, nature, migration, and resilience, bringing a distinctive, deeply personal voice to the intersection of landscapes and belonging.
