Miranda Mullings is a freelance journalist based in Rome, covering the intersection of travel and culture. In addition to AFAR, she has contributed to National Geographic, the Telegraph, Hotels Above Par, and other international publications.
Originally from the midwestern United States, Miranda started spending part of the year in Rome, Italy, in 2018 and has since settled permanently in the Eternal City. After graduating with her bachelor’s in writing, she went on to do an MA in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies; today, she travels between Rome and Egypt, calling Cairo a second home.
