Michelle Jana Chan is a journalist, broadcaster, and author whose work has appeared in Vanity Fair, The Telegraph, BBC, Financial Times, The Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Condé Nast Traveler, and AFAR, among others. Over the past 25 years, she has reported and written from every continent, covering stories that explore people, place, and the power of travel. She hosts the podcast The Wandering Book Collector and delivered the TEDx talk Hitchhiking, Galaxies, and Why Travel Is Not Bad for the Planet. Michelle is also the author of Song, a novel described by Bernardine Evaristo as “a wonderfully lush and atmospheric odyssey of survival against all odds,” and by Elif Shafak as “precise, heartfelt, breathtaking.”
