Campfire
One of San Diego’s most seasoned restaurant managers decided to open his first solo project in Carlsbad in 2016. Campfire is dedicated to the art of live-fire cooking and famed Argentine chef Francis Mallmann inspired the techniques used by Campfire Executive Chef Andrew Bachelier. Dishes cooked on a custom 12-foot hearth powered by a Grillworks grill named Grace include carrots with goat cheese, licorice, honey and almond, and leg of lamb with sea island red pea, lettuce, goat milk and pistachio. Formerly an auto repair shop, the restaurant design incorporates a WWII era Quonset hut from nearby Camp Pendleton.
