I am a freelance writer and a certified English teacher. I write about children and families, teaching, social justice, and the destigmatization of substance use disorder.

My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Independent and a variety of literary journals. I have been featured in Memoir Monday and nominated for Best American Essays.

I am a married mother of four from Baltimore, Maryland. I have lived and taught in communities across the country, from Mid-Coast Maine, to South Texas, to New Orleans, Louisiana. I live near the Chesapeake Bay with my family.

Thank you for your interest in my work.
