Amsterdam brims with iconic sights, and walking and cycling along the canals are not only top experiences, but are also the best ways to get around. The city is home to numerous notable museums, many of which are conveniently gathered on the Museumplein. You can view some of the world’s great paintings at the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. The Anne Frank House, where you can visit the secret annex she and her family hid in during the Nazi occupation, is a moving experience. In the evening, peek into the Red Light District, one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful and historic neighborhoods, then head to a café for a local beer.
