Where to Try Afternoon Tea in Dubai
Due to the United Arab Emirates' history as a British protectorate (1820-1971), when it was known as the Trucial States, the country has a strong cultural connection to Great Britain. One delightful result is the popularity of the British tradition of afternoon tea. Offered in cafés across Dubai from 2 to 6pm, the finest are served in hotel lobbies—which also have the most fascinating people watching, along with bubbly (not available outside hotels).
