Vienna's Best Coffee Houses
Coffee houses are the quintessential Viennese experience. The city's first coffee house dates back to the late 17th century. Depending on whom you believe, it was either opened by a Polish-Habsburg army officer who used beans left behind by the Turks after their defeat, or by an Armenian businessman a year prior. While today some of the traditional coffee houses struggle to stay in business, it seems impossible to imagine the city without them.
