Siem Reap's Essential Temples

The stunning UNESCO World Heritage–listed Khmer Empire-era temples of Angkor Archaeological Park is the reason that most people are in Siem Reap. Just a 20-minute tuk tuk ride from the city center, star attractions such as Angkor Wat, the Bayon and Ta Prohm are easy to visit, but this also means they get terribly crowded, especially in high season. Regardless, they are a must-do. To avoid the crowds, visit lesser known Bakong and Beng Mealea. Go in low season and start out at the crack of dawn.
