Northern Portugal

Map View
The north of Portugal is a magical region with mountains, valleys, hills, rivers, and lakes. The people of the area are more quiet and very religious. The foods are delicious. There is a lot of octopus, rice, vegetables, lamb, beef, kid, and pork. The bread is wonderful, and the wines strong and very special. Craftwork is meticulous especially the linens. The Roman history of the Chaves area is fascinating. It used to be difficult to travel up there but today there is a major highway.
