Keep on (Food) Truckin', Seattle
Collected by Stephanie Perry, AFAR Local Expert
Seattle’s food truck scene combines a casual walk-up setting and top-notch cuisine. From Marination’s Hawaiian-Korean fusion to Barking Frog’s smothered frog legs, there's no food so artisanal or elaborate that we can't stuff it into a truck and drive it around the city. You’ll find truck pods in downtown Seattle, South Lake Union, or Pioneer Square. Abandon all shame, order food from one truck, and eat it while waiting in line for the next.

If you’ve never had Hawaiian-Korean fusion, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Marination. Started in 2009 as a food truck, Marination has since opened a couple of brick-and-mortar locations in Capitol Hill and West Seattle, but still sends...

If the ice cream truck is the original food truck, Street Treats is going back to its roots with homemade, custom ice cream sandwiches. The cookies come in flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter, molasses, and snickerdoodle, filled with...

My Sweet Lil Cakes serves up sweet and savory waffles from a cheerful bright orange truck. Sweet options include a red velvet buttermilk waffle with dark cherries and sweet cream cheese, and the signature savory option is the chicken and waffle...

As the PDX local expert, I do try to venture north every now and again to observe how the neighbors are getting along. Roux is a wonderful wisp of fresh energy for the SEA food scene. From the striking location on Fremont to the cajun cooking with...
