This summer, Joe Diaz and I traveled to Switzerland on a ten-day itinerary to see the best of one of the world’s most fascinating destinations. The trip was prompted by the launch of one of AFAR’s newest ventures, AFAR Journeys, where we asked the members of AFAR’s Travel Advisory Council to create custom itineraries that allow AFAR readers to travel deeper in Switzerland. Here are a few of my favorite stops in Geneva, the Lavaux region, and beyond.

We loved the art and the ambience at the Hotel Angleterre on Lake Geneva. Built in 1874 but completely renovated in 1995 (every room is unique), the hotel is now part of the Red Carnation Hotel group—which has its roots (and its own vineyard!) in...
Save Place

Save Place
Aspen 1, 3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland
