This hotel group lives up to its name with its Six Senses Meditation program, aiming to deliver a balanced guest experience through using sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, and the sixth sense. 4. Rosewood Mayakoba
    Riviera Maya, Mexico
The resort’s new Kuxtal Sensory Garden Journey focuses on the Mayans’ deep connection with nature, providing guest experiences on the relationship between humans and plants. The journey begins at Rosewood Mayakoba’s spa called Sense, where guests first meet their healing therapists and are guided outside to an incense-burning fire. After a brief nature ritual, practitioners make their way to a wall with 13 different herbs growing outside the Kuxtal Sensory Garden and pick their plant at random. Then guests are guided to the Wheel of Life inside the garden, where they intuitively place their plant on a tree trunk divided into four different sections: seed, sprout, full bloom, and wilting. Depending on which herb was chosen and where it was placed, the therapist can explain the person’s current stage of life based on Mayan interpretations and what wellness therapies fit his or her state of mind. Pretty deep stuff, right?
