Zum See

Zum See, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland

Zum See means “at the lake” but there is no lake here. There used to be one 200 to 300 years ago, when this area was an old hamlet. The restaurant is surrounded by historic chalets and fields where cows and sheep used to roam. The a la carte menu combines Swiss and French cuisine with dishes such as gratan or fillets of lamb with Provincial herbs and panna cotta. The best thing on the menu is the homemade puff pastry, which you sometimes have to reserve ahead of time in winter or else it will sell out. 41/(0 )27-967-2045.
