Yusupov Palace
Our first day in St. Petersburg we toured Yusupov Palace, where Rasputin was killed. The palace was beautiful, and it even had a private theater! We were also lucky enough to see a short performance by an a capella group in the ballroom. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling good that day so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Also, because of Russian immigration laws, we had to be with a cruise-sponsored tour group the entire time. That was ok though, because it was nice to have a bus always waiting for us and to not have to figure out on our own where we were going!
