Weavers of Seraya, Bali
Freshly-dyed wool dries in the afternoon sun above barrels of indigo dye. The region of Karangasem in eastern Bali
is too dry to cultivate rice like the rest of the island, so they must rely on weaving for their income instead. You can watch the local weavers at work on their large looms at YPBB, a non-profit created to help the community practice sustainable dyeing techniques and benefit from their traditional ikat weavings.
