Yerseke

The charming fishing village of Yerseke is located on the southern shore of the Eastern Scheldt estuary. After a nearby river flooded the town in 1530, it became known as an excellent spot for oysters—flat oysters are prevalent here—and mussels. Visitors can tour the oyster nurseries to learn more about the region’s aquaculture. Yerseke is a popular place to enjoy fresh seafood at its numerous restaurants.
