Wright Brothers National Memorial
Walking the First Flight Path
It is the travel enthusiast's shrine, a sacred pilgrimage past three stone "gods" that mark the first, second, and third flights made by Orville and Wilbur Wright. Each marker shows the distance, flight length, date flight was made, and the flight pilot's name. But this flight path is not all you'll find at the memorial. There's also a quality museum with plane replicas, the Wright brothers full flight story on large storyboards, and an enormous monument atop a hill with lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean. If you are passionate about travel like myself, and couldn't imagine living in a world without flight travel, walking this flight path might be something of a religious experience!
