LOST: I was the Artist in Residence at Petrified National Park, Arizona for two weeks last Spring. When I departed I stopped at the Homolovi Ruins near Winslow to see the ruins and petroglyphs. Approaching the Colorado River I suddenly began to sink up to my knees while avoiding the sign posted next to me. Thank goodness I had water since it was approaching 110 degrees! I was rescued by my partner who also shot this image. (This COULD be lie!)
