South Africa isn’t know for its sushi, but in Cape Town the place to satisfy your craving is Willoughby & Co. The menu is encylopedic—you can order both tom yum soup and Boston clam chowder, and mains run the gamut from fish and chips to local favorite kingklip —but sushi is the star. Try the chili-seared tuna sashimi or the tuna roll with caviar sesame seeds.
For the best sushi in town, try Willoughby & Co on the V&A waterfront. Here they serve the freshest sushi and at a great value. The one drawback it is inside the mall part of the V&A but don't let that fool you. Locals line up for this daily.
Willoughby's has by the far the best sushi in Cape Town. Get here early as they don't take reservations and are completely slammed every night. I would advise sitting at the sushi bar as that is usually less packed. Willoughby is one of the most expensive sushi spots in the city, but still reasonably priced by international standards.
