Experiencing Edmonton's Multiculturalism at The Heritage Festival
On the August long weekend (usually the first weekend) Edmonton celebrates it's multiculturalism with The Heritage Festival at William Hawrelak Park. Here 85 different cultures within Edmonton are represented and show of their cultures and traditions to the rest of the Edmonton. There are traditional arts and crafts, food and drinks, as well as music and cultural performances at many of the cultural pavilions. Admission to the festival is free, but Heritage Days is a big fundraiser for the Edmonton Food Bank, so people are encourage to bring non-perishable food items for donation.
