Amongst the many pristine bays and islands that make up the British Virgin Islands lies the smaller and less populated, Jost Van Dyke, home to the famous Soggy Dollar Bar and Ivan's Campground.
Just a short ferry ride from Tortola's West End and you arrive in Jost Van Dkye's Great Harbor. Stop at Foxy's for lunch or hop in a local taxi for the two minute ride over the hill into White Bay.
Here's a few spots to hit while you're there:
Ivan's Stress Free Bar and Campground has cabins on the beach available from $75 a night with their own chaise lounges, hammocks and a clean shower house.
The Soggy Dollar Bar is the birthplace of the Painkiller, a popular BVI drink similar to a pina colada - on the rocks with orange juice. Stop in for at least a few.
Coco Locos is right next door with a new chef serving up insane roast beef sandwiches, chicken wraps, pizza and banana fries. You might even luck out on some fresh caught lobster if owner, Uncle Wendell, pulls some up from his traps that day.
After all your food and drink, hike up the mountain to enjoy the view of the beautiful bay at sunset or jump in the water for a snorkel around the rocks. Either way, it's a good time in paradise.
