WWOOF WWOOF I built a HouseSure, WWOOFing usually entails some farming, maybe some livestock, or even some cooking; however, at this farm, it meant using my hands in different ways.
Living on an Into-the-Wild-esc bus with a German carpenter's son and a former electrical engineer from the Czech Republic I was definitely out of my element. However, after a few days, I had erected walls (that you could walk on, see above picture), fashioned trusses on top of the walls, and manufactured home made solar panels.
All the hard worked paid off, with the close of each day came the most incredible early summer sunset. Sitting on top of the tallest hill in the region overlooking Northland we all sat around for a cupatea, ate some fresh oysters that we hand picked from Whargaroa Harbour, and enjoyed the feeling of being On Top of the World.
