Planes and Pancakes—A Perfect Mix at Waypoint Café, Camarillo Airport
How often do you get to sit outside and enjoy a great breakfast or lunch while watching airplanes take off and land? That’s always our experience at The Waypoint Café at the Camarillo Airport. We usually go for breakfast. The kids loved watching the small planes take off and land—so close that you can see the pilots prepare for takeoff, hop into their planes and be on their way. The airport is small so no loud jets. It’s relaxing but exciting too. We usually order huevos rancheros, French toast and pancakes—all plentiful portions with a wonderful home-cooked taste.
After enjoying our breakfast and watching planes take off and land, we walked a few steps to a new addition to the café. Perfect for kids and right past the outside dining patio is mini runway and a 16’ replica of the control tower that broadcasts actual flight information. There were lots of kids with their arms spread pretending to take off down the runway.
