There isn't much separating riders from the ground 490 feet below them when they ride the Voodoo Zip Line, which runs between the two towers at Rio Las Vegas.
Belted into a ski lift-type seat with a single seat belt, riders are lifted from a platform on the 51st floor of the Masquerade Tower and then suddenly flying free to the next tower. Once the seat reaches the second platform, the seat is hoisted back to its starting position so the riders experience everything once again ... only backwards this time.
This is a quick ride, lasting just over a minute as riders travel the one-third mile expanse, but with speeds up to 35 MPH, it can be quite terrifying.
