World's Best Mussels "Moules Frites"If you can ignore the fact that these creatures look a bit like they came out of the "Little Shop of Horrors" movie, then you will have the most amazing delicacy to ever pass your lips. I choose the garlic cream steaming sauce, but the lemon wine steam is excellent, too. And then there is a version with beer and another with curry and yet another with marinara and picante chiles! Sigh, decisions, decisions — not really fair to have to make any like that while on vacation. I eventually came to the conclusion, at the risk of being an "ugly American," that it was worth being picky and requesting they put a little of the chili sauce in with the garlic cream. Aaaaah! Simply divine.
Don't forget to ask for vinegar and mayo for your fries and some baguette & butter to sop up every last brothy goodness of that luscious mussel sauce at the bottom of your pot.
Lastly, eat all with a crisp cool beautiful French sauvignon blanc, and you'll think you've been to heaven.
