Museo Arqueológico Mazatlán
Located in Mazatlán's historic center, the city's archaeological museum opened in 1989 with the goal of showcasing the artifacts of pre-Hispanic Sinaloan groups, including the Acaxee, Cáhita, Pacaxee, Tahue, Totorame and Xixime. Though small, it's well maintained, and English-speaking visitors appreciate that interpretive displays include English translations. Tools, cooking and food implements and sacred objects are among the items in the museum's collections.
