Visit a Black-Sand Beach
St Vincent and the Grenadines
Visit a Black-Sand BeachThe volcanic origins of St. Vincent and many of the Grenadines means that the archipelago is home to some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful black-sand beaches. Richmond Beach is a beautiful crescent beside a small forested area that provides some shade when you want a break from the sun. Located on St. Vincent’s leeward side, there is little surf or undertow making it ideal for swimming (though be aware of a very deep drop off not far from shore).
Mt. Wynne Beach is one of the most popular black-sand beaches on St. Vincent. Locals and visitors alike come here for picnics, and it is also a convenient stop en route to the Falls of Baleine. Mt. Wynne Beach sit on the island’s west coast, approximately eleven miles from Kingstown.
