The Central Highlands in Vietnam are one of the most scenic and aromatic regions in the country. After all, it's coffee country and when the flowers bloom in the winter, a waft of sweet perfume permeates the air for miles around.
And what better way to experience the scents than by motor bike?
When I traveled in the region about seven years ago, I hooked up with a local band of merry men called Easy Riders. They offered (and still do, I assume) customized trips along a portion of the historic Ho Chi Minh trail, extending from Dalat in the south to the outskirts of Danang in the north.
Squeezing in between suitcase and driver, our group of four traveled the mountainous route through little villages, rice paddies, dense forests and coffee fields, catching all the sights, as well as aromas, as we puttered along.
