At last report (May 2018), Vieques Paddleboarding was still recovering from Hurricane Maria. Please call and check before your visit.
After a little online research, I decided to go with Vieques Paddleboarding for my first time paddleboarding, and I’m glad I did! My fiancé and I booked a 3-hour paddleboard and snorkel tour for $75 each – well worth the cost. The group was small – 10 people plus the two trip leaders, and the area where we met and started paddleboarding was a calm inlet near mangroves that blocked most of the wind. The trip leaders taught us a few basics about how to stay afloat. They both made us feel safe throughout the trip by making sure everyone was together and no one fell behind. After about an hour paddleboarding, we landed on a small sandy beach for a short break to have water and trail mix before heading into the water to snorkel for about 30-45 minutes. Afterward, we returned to the same spot where we all met up to start the tour and retrieved our belongings that the trip leaders kept in waterproof bags. I was tired, but not exhausted and discovered a new water sport that I’d definitely do again! After I returned home from my vacation, Vieques Paddleboarding sent us 51 great photos of the tour taken by one of the trip leaders that was also included in the price!
