Victoria Memorial Hall, 1, Queens Way, Kolkata, West Bengal 700071, India
Remnants of Colonialism in Eastern IndiaDedicated to Queen Victoria, Victoria Memorial Halls adds sparkle to my city Calcutta (Now Kolkata) the former Capital of British India. Designed by Sir William Emerson, this memorial hall has has elements of Mughal architecture (The Minars and the stone work) and for me, this is my city's Taj Mahal. The Dome and the Angel of Victory atop reminds me of Italian Domes and angels. The majestic structure stands amidst a well tended park and is a must see in the City of Joy!
