What more exotic place to bungee jump than off the Victoria Falls Bridge, over the turbulent waters of the Zambezi, just below Vic Falls itself? Though I was at first determined to have my first bungee experience here, I'm not really that much of an adrenaline junkie, and I'm sure I would have chickened out standing at the ledge were it not for the practiced outfitters at Vic Falls. The office is on the Zam side of the bridge; bring your passport so you can hang out in the no-man's land of the bridge between Zim and Zam. The bungee guys know exactly how to distract and motivate, talking you up excitedly as they strap you in, until even I was convinced that yeah, I still really did want to take a flying leap into thin air over croc-infested waters. The rush was amazing, and having a friend to document the money shot as my feet left the platform means I have the moment recorded forever for posterity. Once you're done with your heart-stopping plunge, you can return to more mundane miracles, like letting one of the natural wonders of the world thunder its waterfall way into your soul with an extended exploration of Victoria Falls National Park.
